A butterfly lights on a flower pedal on our backyard deck. Taken with Master's Olympus D510-Z in macro mode.
There will be fireworks tonight and I'll try not to bark as much as I did last year. What a glorious day it has been -- sunny, warm, with people all over Anchorage congregating on backyard decks with friends to barbecue and enjoy the seemingly endless sunlight. Master went downtown to the parkstrip today to listen to live music; earlier this morning we went mountain biking. Monday he begins his summer class at the university, and then in Fall he's attending another class, perhaps two, all in an effort to reinvent himself in the life sciences. With hard work and some good fortune, by this time next year he might have matriculated a doctoral pharmacology program somewhere in the lower 48. I'm ambivalent about leaving Alaska. We will have to wait and see how this plays out.
