O, what a weekend. As forecasted, on Friday Master traveled to the mouth of the world famous Kenai River here in southern Alaska. He fished two tide swings from midnight through noon the following day and netted a dozen red salmon. Friends he went with hauled in just as many or more for a total take of about forty+ salmon. He vacuum sealed most of them, plans to smoke the others tomorrow, and tonight we had one on the barbecue. Mmmm mmm good. Nothing better than summer living in the Last Frontier.
Then today Lance Armstrong officially won the TdF (was there ever a doubt!). Yesterday's time trial could have been knuckle biter were it not for the miserable weather which slowed everyone down, including Jan Ullrich who fell down on a sharp wet turn, erasing the last remaining challenge to Lance's victory dance this morning on the Champs Elysees. That's five in a row now for Lance. If he makes a go of it again next year, and wins, he'd be in a class all his own. No one has ever won the Tour de France six times, far less six times in a row.
