(No) Sour Grapes
Quick, think of your favorite food. Okay, now, even when it comes to your favorite food, surely you have experienced a range of satisfaction in the various preparations of that food -- pretty good to perfect, say. Now, consider, what if perfection were found to be largely dependent on genomic factors related to how the food was grown or raised? Whachyou saying, dog, Epicureanism through chemistry? Yes!
Example, one of the favorite "foods" in our house is wine (recall: 1 & 2). Exquisite wine begins with perfect grapes. The Scientist linked an interesting article on researchers who are in the hunt for the perfect grape. Think of it, Master, the beginnings of the perfect Chateau Petrus in a Petri dish! Ah, the world just keeps getting better.
May I humbly recomend the next food to perfect -- rawhide!
