V-day come 'n gone
I recognized it as the day of love and affection between intimate partners when I spotted the roses - specifically, Costco "tea roses" - on the kitchen table. Master had sneaked downstairs the night before, after Mom was off to bed, to move them from the secret place in the cold garage into the house. By morning the blooms were gracefully opening.
Gift opening followed. Intimates for Mom, and a snappy shirt for Master.
Facannoble no less. Wheeeeee. (See below). Followed shortly thereafter by breakfast -
Eggs In A Nest. Fried potatoes with chillies surrounding a gently
fried baked egg, sunny side up. Sprinkled with spice and Gruyere cheese. Toast & endearment.

Digestion and espresso, and then it was time for our morning walk together. We drove to the park and walked the bluff. A frozen and muddied Cook Inlet to the right, the snow-covered Chugach mountains looming behind.

Not more than ten feet to the right of Mom is a vertical drop to the beach, maybe two hundred feet. In other words not a good place for Lucy to backslide in the snow, which she loves to do. The slightest hill has her flipping on her back and sliding down it like a dog in a luge. Not here, hon, trust me.
The day intersected with date night and so the uprights were off to the sushi bar. Master preferred the tuna and yellowtail, Mom's favorite was the salmon roe wrap.

Still hungry? No problem. The sushi chef made them a special plate. Appears to be shrimp wrapped in rice and other stuff, sprinkled with black sesame seeds. Notice the glass is held in place by a smear of Wasabi.

Sated, content, and happy.
